Katarina Obradović Baklaja Company position: Partner Company: BIT Law Office Katarina is attorney at law with over twenty years of professional experience, specialised for Construction and Real Estate law and Dispute resolution. She spent first part of professional career in judiciary, acting for 9 years as a judge within that period.

 In her adjudication and arbitration practice she successfully implements years of judicial experience in areas of proceedings guidance, presentation and evaluation of evidence and decision writing. After joining Bar Association, she represented clients in
international arbitrations under ICC rules, VIAC rules and BAC rules as member of office arbitration team. As part of academic specialisation in the area, she completed multi – disciplinary post graduate studies „International Construction Contracts” at Panthéon – Assas University Paris II and holds a PgD from that university. She is advising clients in numerous projects over the region in areas of Real Estate, energy law and infrastructure with focus on projects based on various models of FIDIC General Conditions of Contracts. 

From 2017. she is appointed to National PRO List of experts of ACES in two expert categories: List PRO 2 – recommended lawyers for the field and List PRO 3 –recommended Adjudicators for DAB. Katarina is an active member of Aces Working group, promoting a role, importance and implementation of FIDIC standards in Serbia and in the region and engaged as a trainer on local FIDIC trainings organized by ACES. She has full working capacity in English.

Dragana Čukić

BS and MS at Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade – Department of Structures, where she continued professional engagement as teaching assistant at Steel Structures, until 2006.

During her academic career, she was the President of the Supervisory Board and the Member of the Presidency of YASE (Yugoslav Association of Structural Engineers), from which she was awarded as a credited member. Dragana is author of numerous scientific papers and co- author of the monograph “Steel Structures”. As a designer of steel structures, she participated in the development of a number of projects, and is one of the initiators and active participants in the introduction and implementation of structural Eurocodes in construction practices in Serbia.

From 2000 Dragana developed fruitful career in project management and real estate development. She has been involved in the development of one of the largest real estate portfolios in the region as a part of the largest private company in Serbia – Delta, at first as Project Manager, than Delta Real Estate Development Director, Director of Delta Invest, having the position of CEO at Delta Real Estate and the member of the Board of Directors of Delta Holding in 2011.

Since August 2012 with partners she started private company JAI Development&Consulting primarily oriented to investment and consulting in the field of renewable energy resources and real estate.

Slaven Moravčević

Slaven Moravčević Company position: Partner Company: Moravčević, Vojnović and partners in cooperation with Schoenherr Slaven Moravčević is a partner who heads the firm’s dispute resolution practice in Serbia and the region. He is also specialised in real estate, energy and corporate/m&a. 

Slaven led the State of Montenegro to seven major arbitration wins, five in investor-state arbitrations and two in high-value and high-complexity commercial arbitrations, including in relation to three arbitrations (exceeding EUR 1 billion) under the UNCITRAL and ICSID initiated by the Russian billionaire, Oleg Vladimirovich Deripaska. He is leading the team representing United Group B.V., Adria Serbia Holdco B.V., Serbia Broadband – srpske kablovske mreže d.o.o. Beograd (owned by BC Partners), as claimants, in investment arbitration under the bilateral investment treaty between Serbia and The Netherlands and a construction company in two ICC arbitrations against two construction companies in one of the largest African states, to recover a significant amount of retention monies under various construction-related contracts, each of which is worth between EUR 4 million and EUR 10 million. 

So far, he has been involved in arbitrations under all major sets of arbitration rules, including ICC, UNCITRAL (1976 and 2010), LCIA, FTCA (Foreign Trade Court of Arbitration with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce), ICSID and ICSID Additional Facility. Slaven is on the list of arbitrators of the Permanent Arbitration at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the list of practitioners of Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC).

Nikola Matić

Nikola Matic is a qualified Engineer with over 30 years experience of Engineering in infrastructure and buildings.  He is especially skilled in multi-disciplinary project studies different segments integration under the FIDIC model of contracts.

His experience embraces planning of land transportation and the engineering of the required infrastructure, including building sector.

He has large experience in negotiation, mediation, claim and contract management and problem solving on regionally funded projects.

Besides regular tasks in managing companies VMS and DNEC, he is responsible for all aspects of the supervision of construction, for the administration of construction contracts under various FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

He is a co-funder and Board member of the national consulting engineers association – ACES.

As of September 2015, as an Executive Member Board of Directors in EFCA (European Consultant Engineers Association) besides regular activities, he is responsible for driving Future Trends group, a newly formed EFCA sub-committee.

Over the last 15 years Mr. Matic has been engaged in numerous cases and trainings referred to the Legal, Technical and Claim & Disputes aspects of FIDIC use in the Projects.

Dušan Arbanovski

Dušan Arbanovski Company position: Contract & Claim Expert Company: D&I Consult Dušan Arbanovski is a Civil Engineer with more than 15 years of experience in the entire project management life cycle, starting from bid preparation, design phase, project execution, completion and discharge. From the outset of his career, he was involved in big scale infrastructure projects contracted in accordance with the FIDIC and other recognised standard conditions of the Contract.


Dušan Arbanovski also holds LLM (Master of Laws) in Construction Law and Arbitration at Robert Gordon University (UK) and has a full understanding of various Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) rules and techniques, including Dispute Board resolution mechanisms under FIDIC. He has proven accomplishment being FIDIC Certified Adjudicator, admitted as Fellow by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and certified as Chartered Quantity Surveyor by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). Dušan Arbanovski is also listed under ACES (Association of Consulting Engineers of Serbia) Pro list of adjudicators and experts and admitted as UKA (UK Adjudicators) Dispute Board Member. 

Acting as lead counsel, forensic delay analyst and/or quantum expert, in numerous disputes before Dispute Boards and/or Arbitration Tribunals, Dušan Arbanovski gained valuable practical experience in a considerable diversity of matters and issues arising in different construction contracts and governing laws.

Senka Mihaj

Senka Mihaj Company position: Partner Company: MIM Law (Mihaj Ilić & Milanović Law Firm) Throughout her career, Senka represented domestic and foreign companies as well as states, in broad range of complex, high – value disputes. She regularly represents clients in commercial and investment arbitration proceedings under inter alia ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, LCIA, SCAI, VIAC and the Rules of the Permanent Arbitration at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. 

She has an outstanding experience in disputes related to privatization, construction (including FIDIC related cases), banking and finance, energy sector, environmental protection, agriculture, and various contractual relations. Senka is recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners’ as a leading lawyer in Serbia for dispute resolution. Senka also acts as an arbitrator and has been selected as the only Serbian member of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) Panel of Arbitrators.

Aleksandra Damnjanović

State Secretary in Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.

From 2012 to 2014 she was assistant to the Minister of Construction and Urban Planning, responsible for the work of the Sector dealing with the issuance of construction and use permits, energy efficiency in building, construction land, republic construction and communal inspection and administrative and legal supervision in the area of state diameter and cadastre.

In the period from 2004 to 2012, she was Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Capital Investments, Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Mining, Spatial Planning and Urban Planning.

From 1987 to 2004 she worked as a councilor, assistant chief of staff and chief of property, legal, construction and communal-housing affairs in the Municipality of Savski Venac. Previously, for two years, she worked as a trainee lawyer in the field of civil and criminal law.

Ivana Panić

Ivana Panić is a partner at Moravčević Vojnović and partners in cooperation with Schoenherr. She specialises in real estate, construction law with an emphasis on FIDIC Conditions of Contract, along with construction arbitration. As construction law/FIDIC is her main area of expertise, Ivana has been engaged in all the firm’s FIDIC-related projects on various project sides (investors, contractors and subcontractors) throughout the CEE in different industries, such as highway construction and financing, retail center development, hotel/resort development.

Ivana is acting as local FIDIC trainer with the Serbian Association of Consulting Engineers. She is also a part of a tier-1 Real Estate and Construction focus group.
