Under FIDIC training – Module 1, which was held in October 2009 organized by FIDIC, ACES and YU Build, panel discussion took place, with the idea to examine the potential of Serbian companies in foreign markets.
The speakers were Dr. Silvia Fossati, FIDIC training manager, Bojan Jankovic, deputy director of the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA), John Cassano, representative of the U.S. Green Building Council and Consultant for USAID Serbia Competitiveness Project, and Nikola Matic, a member of the Board ACES, and director of VMS, a co-founder company of ACES. Panel discussion was prepared and conducted by member Nikola Matic, who is in the name of ACES, presented one of the possible business models.
There was talk about the strategic orientation, previous experience of domestic construction companies, competitive insight, the way of planning and moving up to international standards as a starting point.
The round table was followed by the media. It resulted in a number of articles and TV reports on TV Studio B and RTS1.
As a conclusion to the round table a proposal was presented to formalize Eurocodes (EN standards) for construction, to implement other European standards wherever possible and in the interest of development of the domestic investment sector and export potential. It was also underlined the need for better communication between the Consulting Engineers and exchange of experiences on similar events.
On behalf of ACES, all the people who are considered to be socially responsible were invited to improve care and take actions related to environmental protection and energy efficiency.
